A full corner rebuild of the public sidewalk, curb, corner ramp and driveway apron fronting an eight-unit multi-residential building in Radisson Heights, delivered under our own agreement with the City of Calgary.
This corner lot comes with a twist. The City requires part of the property to be given up for a road widening and a corner cut at the intersection, which means the sidewalk, curb and corner ramp are all being built new to a completely revised property line.
On paper, this is the kind of scope that typically fragments into three or four separate contracts. Symphony is delivering it as one.
Scope of work
- A full new curb and gutter to the new road-widening line
- A new corner wheelchair ramp with a detectable warning surface
- Refreshed driveway crossings and a new rear-lane concrete apron
- A restored boulevard with fresh topsoil and sod
- Careful protection of the mature public tree next to the site
Outcome
Symphony is an indemnified sidewalk contractor with the City of Calgary, a standing that few builders hold and one that streamlines every stage of a right-of-way project. For the owner at 1103, it means an entire corner rebuild delivered as one coordinated project, with one team on the ground and one point of contact from the day the requirement was noted on the permit through to the day the City signs it off. By carrying the full right-of-way scope under Symphony, the owner saves more than 50% for a corner site of this complexity. The finished streetscape will meet the full City of Calgary standard at approximately half the cost.
