A complete driveway and front-approach concrete package for an estate home on Posthill Drive SW, in one of Calgary's most established west-side neighbourhoods.
The scope covered the full run of concrete visible from the street: the driveway from the garage to the roadway, the transition at the double garage aprons, and the walkways tying the front entry into the drive.
The finished surface was designed to sit quietly against the home's stonework and mature landscaping, with clean lines, consistent grades and joint layout planned to follow the geometry of the home rather than cut across sightlines.
Grading was set to move water away from the foundation and garage slab, and the base was built to a depth appropriate for Alberta freeze-thaw cycles so the finished driveway will hold its line for the long term.
Scope of work
- A full concrete driveway from the garage to the property line
- Double garage aprons at the two-bay attached garage
- Front walkway and entry approach tying into the driveway
- Reinforced base built for Alberta freeze-thaw conditions
- Grading set to drain water away from the home
- Site clean-up and landscape reinstatement adjacent to the pour
Outcome
Estate concrete work is unforgiving. The finish, the joint layout and the transitions at the garage and walkway are all in constant view from the street and from inside the home. Symphony delivered this scope as a single coordinated pour package, with one team responsible from excavation through final finish, so the result reads as one clean surface rather than a series of separate contracts stitched together. The finished driveway and front-approach package sits cleanly against the home, drains correctly, and is built to hold up through Calgary winters without settlement or heaving at the garage or entry.
